PayPal is an intermediary service used to facilitate payments between individuals/online businesses. In other words PayPal, as an on-line payment service provider that enables users to send and recieve money electronically via the internet.
PayPal Inc., originally Confinity then through a merger with X com became PayPal, was founded in December 1998 by Max Levchin, Peter Thiel, Luke Nosek, and Ken Howery. Acquired by eBay in 2002, PayPal today has more than 153 million accounts worldwide in 190 markets and 24 currencies. The company's Headquarters is in San Jose, California.
